How to migrate from List Perfectly to SECND

The migration path is the same shape as any crosslister move: import from the marketplaces rather than from the old tool, keep delisting enabled in only one system during the overlap, and cancel once you have watched a sale delist correctly on every channel.

The biggest practical change

List Perfectly is built around a browser extension and a catalogue of listings. SECND is built around inventory that is published from a server. That difference shows up immediately in three places: you stop needing a browser tab open, delisting no longer depends on your machine being awake, and a sale in a physical store can delist an online listing.

If you sell only online and never in person, the second point is the one that matters. If you have a shop floor, the third one changes how the business runs.

Migration steps

  1. 1

    Connect your highest-volume marketplace first

One channel, fully working, teaches you more than six half-connected ones.

  2. 2

Import live listings from each connected channel

This gives SECND the listing IDs it needs in order to delist. Never publish before importing.

  3. 3

    Merge duplicates into single items

One physical item should end up as one SECND record with a listing per channel.

  4. 4

    Disable delisting in List Perfectly

Only one tool may act on a sale. Two will conflict and produce marketplace errors that look like bugs but are just a race.

  5. 5

    Rebuild templates and description blocks

Recreate your standard shipping copy, policies and sign-off as templates and description affixes. This is a good moment to trim copy nobody reads.

  6. 6

Send all new intake through SECND

Stop creating anything in the old tool from day one of the overlap.

  7. 7

Cancel after a clean sale cycle

One sale per connected channel, each delisting correctly, is the bar.

Rebuilding templates without copying old habits

Most long-standing sellers carry template text that accumulated over years: shipping notes, return language, measurement disclaimers, a signature block. Some of it is genuinely useful and some of it is scar tissue from a problem you had in 2021.

Rather than porting it verbatim, split it. Policy text that must appear on every listing belongs in a description prefix or suffix so it is maintained in one place. Item-specific language belongs in the item. Anything you cannot justify, drop.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my listing history?

No. Your listings stay live on the marketplaces throughout. Importing reads them rather than recreating them, so age, watchers and marketplace-side history are unaffected.

Is there an export I should take before cancelling?

Take whatever catalogue export your current tool offers, plus a copy of your template text. Even if you do not import the catalogue directly, having it costs nothing and occasionally answers a question later.

Can I keep using the browser extension approach?

SECND uses a Chrome extension only for marketplaces with no seller API. Everything else publishes server-side, which is generally more reliable and is not something you need to configure.

How long should the overlap be?

About a week for most sellers, and it is bounded by sales volume rather than time. If you turn over your inventory quickly you may be confident in three days; if you sell a few items a week, give it two weeks.
