Getting Started

Which marketplace should you connect first?

Decide which marketplace to connect first based on where your sales already live.

TL;DR

Connect the platform where most of your current sales already live. Connecting your highest-volume channel first gives SECND the richest history to learn from, so forecasts and recommendations work right away.

Why connection order matters

SECND learns from your sales history. The platform you connect first is the one it analyzes most deeply — pricing patterns, sell-through rates, seasonal curves. If you connect a low-volume side channel first, SECND's forecasts will be thinner until you add the busier ones.

Order doesn't lock you in. You can disconnect, reconnect, and add more channels at any time. But starting with your highest-volume platform makes the first day feel useful instead of empty.

The decision in three rules

If you run a physical store with a POS:connect your POS first (Square or Lightspeed). Your in-store sales are the ground truth for what's actually moving.

If you're online-only and selling across multiple marketplaces: connect the marketplace that drove the most revenue last month. Usually that's eBay or Etsy for resellers, Shopify for owned-storefront sellers.

If you're mixed: connect the POS first if more than half your revenue is in-store; otherwise start with your biggest online channel.

Step-by-step

1

Identify your highest-volume channel

Look at last month's sales by channel. The one with the highest revenue is your primary.
2

Confirm SECND supports it

Click Connect in the sidebar. If your channel appears under Available, you're good to go.
3

Connect that channel first

Click Connect on the card, sign in, and let the initial import complete before you do anything else.
4

Add the rest, one at a time

Once the first import settles, connect your next channel. Adding one at a time lets you spot any data issues before they multiply.
