Selling on Facebook Marketplace

Open Facebook settings#

Preferences appear after the account connects. If the connection expires, reconnect before changing its listing defaults.

Location and currency#

Set a Selling location before publishing. Search for the place where the item is available and select the result so SECND can save Facebook's location details.

Listing currency uses your home currency unless you choose a Facebook-specific override. Select Use home currency to remove an override.

Visibility and comments#

Choose Everyone, Friends only, or Hidden from friends. SECND uses that choice when it publishes new Facebook Marketplace listings. If you never pick one, listings are hidden from friends.

Turn on Disable comments if new listings should not have a comment section. This setting is not shown in the mobile app yet.

Post to Facebook groups#

Pick up to 20 of your buy and sell groups under Facebook Groups. When SECND publishes a new Facebook listing, Facebook also posts it to each group you picked. It's still one listing, so a sale or delist only needs to happen once.

The list only shows groups that have Facebook's buy and sell features turned on and sell in your listing currency. A regular discussion group won't appear, even if its name says buy and sell. Join a group on Facebook first and it shows up here.

Nothing is posted to groups until you pick one. To stop, choose Don't post to groups. Editing a listing never posts it to groups again.

Some groups hold a new member's posts until an admin approves them, so the group post can appear later than the Marketplace listing. If you leave a group you picked, Facebook skips it and still posts to the rest.

Shipping defaults#

Facebook shipping is stored in a reusable shipping profile. Confirm the selling location and enter the shipping price. A blank value or $0 means free shipping.

Open Listing Manager → Shipping profiles, then edit the Facebook Marketplace mapping.
